The Stephen Pointer Band hails out of Fort Worth Texas which is known for itsrich history and legendary music. Stephen began his musical career at the tenderyoung age of 12 training under Texas Blues legend ugar?Dave Millsap. Throughhis high school years Stephen took advantage of every opportunity he had to playguitar. It wasn't until he entered college in 1999 at Auburn that he realized hehad a knack for performing in front of people. After a year at Auburn he waseager to return home to Texas and attend Texas Christian University where hecould further his love of Texas music. It was at TCU where Stephen met fellowband mate Herbie Rolph. The two made an instant connection and formed a bandwith fellow classmates and local musicians. Playing locally and writing catchysongs the Stephen Pointer Band began to create a buzz in the local music scene.In 2005 the band welcomed guitar phenome Austin Barker to the mix. A new organicsound was formed and built the foundation for their freshman release ixes andSevens?which was released January 2006 at Billy Bobs Texas. With a growing fanbase and a solid live show, the Stephen Pointer Band was quickly turning headsin the entertainment world with multiple nominations in the prestigious FortWorth Weekly Awards. The final piece of the puzzle was the addition of drummer Joe Carpenterwho brought a new level of professionalism to their growing reputation.
