Hailing from the wonderful land of Las Vegas, NV, is the four piece called, The Letter You. The band has been around for a little while, but is just now getting more serious about their music. Frontman, Jared Banares, who has amassed 2,360 subscribers on his YouTube channel where he covers songs acoustically, has just recently unveiled his workings for the past couple of months. The band, The Letter You, is a perfect example of what pop music should sound like: energetic, loud, no fake drum beats, and a little bit of a pop-punk edge in their songs. On Our Own starts off with the infectious single, “Tank Tops and Cut Offs (The Summer Song).” The song is exactly what it says: a song about summer and everything about it. This song, along with the other songs on the EP are a beautiful showcase of Banares’ huge range and ability to write the catchiest hooks I have heard in a while as he sings in the chorus, “We just want a song for the summer, \u002F a one hit wonder to sing. \u002F We just want a song to remember \u002F the nights spent together that meant so much to me. \u002F Every year will bring \u002F another song to sing. \u002F Everyday’s a Saturday.”
