The audience calls it a “punch directly in the face”: The tight and energetic live performance of Dutch metal band CILICE (ex Orphanage [Nuclear Blast], Smogus [Universal]). Under the name of “mad math metal” the band plays music that is influenced by Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan and Mike Patton, among others. Still, according to critics, CILICE managed to entirely create their proper unique sound. In 2009 the band has surprised friends and foes with the debut album Deranged Headtrip (PMM Records, Bertus distr.) which has been remarkably well received by the press. The release has been followed by a European tour of 3 months through 20 countries:Aardshok: top 10 - ’metal of honour’MusicMaker: album of the month - ‘an absolute must have!’Blastbeat: ‘this record is gold’Lords of Metal: ‘A Gesamtkunstwerk’Zware Metalen: ‘Run to the nearest cd shop!’
