The Fontana record label, originally a subsidiary of Dutch company Philips, was founded in 1958. It is still in existence today, but this compilation is a unique opportunity to hear some gems unearthed from its early years, including recordings by Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Screamin' Jay Hawkinsa and many more.
