the roots of alenia come from the beginnings of slovenian techno scene. the man behind alenia is ales cacovic, 26 years old, born and still living in ljubljana. in the early nineties he got caught by the electronic dance music which got inspired him in many ways. he was fascinated by early warp inteligente dance music, as well as by the unique sound of detroit and also by the ?hard core? music extremes. after years of collecting and started mixing at the clubs, ales got experienced as well as a dj in 1993.his very first sound experiments were made by a roland 909 and 303 in 1993 and soon after he built up a studio with his music partner torul. years of producing different genres under different names such as clox, clockworx, cloak device, mostly on slovenian labels (absence, matrix music) got him even more and more experienced, focusing to the techno music. this led to his first release as alenia on ucmg?s fine audio recordings in 1999.since then his production has lead to release on labels such as rotation, eukatech, terminal m, superbra, definition...the sound of alenia today represents ale??s all of his influences which are now expressed in his recongnisable production and 3 deck dj sets. by critics opinion his style is a dynamic fusion of tech, funky, housy and latin elements, based on a techno background but flavoured with an old-school vibes.
