Joseph Beckford, the legendary trombonist and singer from the reggae-group Culture is now releasing his third solo-album, ORIGINAL. Here you find besouled music from Jamaica via the Rub-a-Dub studio in Stockholm, with the roots deeply into the experimental childhood of reggae! ”THIS SOUND IS I & I ROOTS – I’M ORIGINAL” Joseph doesn’t try to imitate or sound like theJamaican gigants from the seventies. He is ”Original”! Joseph was part of the development of reggae in Kingston, Jamaica during the seventies and therefore has more than a 30 years long career in the music-business behind him. Joseph has been playing and singing with a hough selection of artists like Lee Scratch Perry, Robbie Shakespeare and Leroy Sibbles. It was during a European tour in the beginning of the eighties with the legendary reggae-band Culture that Joseph for the first time came to Sweden. After some time Joseph settled down in Sweden, where he has become very popular and known as musician and singer. He has contributed on a wide range of records with artists records and tours like Babtunde Tony Ellis, Zilversurf, LionDub, Iya Karna and the Reggaeterians. Josephs third album ”ORIGINAL” is, likewise the previous critics praised records ”Are U Ready” and ”Bright Morning”, with radiosingles like Are U Ready and Good to Me, produced by Dan Markebeck and mixed by Internal Dread in the Rub-a-dub studio. On the record a well meritaded crowd of Swedish musicians has gathered to make a solid and swinging rhythm-section worthy the voice of Joseph Beckford. Contributing musicians are Christer Björklund – Drums (Papa Dee), Anders Kappelin - Bass (Governor Andy), Dan Markebeck – Keyboards (Babatunde Tony Ellis, Governor Andy).
