The band has further refined its unique aesthetic of combining traditional music instrumentation and themes while continuing to explore their own unique take on modern acoustic-electric music. To quote the last song on the disc “The Suffering Song”, at times this music sounds like it’s “as old as the world”. Melody Maker has said the band writes “songs that light up the furthest reaches of the soul”. At the same time, this is music that doesn’t easily fit into categories. Each band member contributes widely varied influences and yet it ultimately blends into a unique vision directed by principle songwriter and vocalist Robert Fisher. Recorded in Ljubljana, Boston and London over a period of a year and a half, this recording began life as an accident. Much like the bands first record 3Am Sunday at Fortune Otto’s, this recording is the result of a few off days in the studio with nothing on the agenda much more than having some fun.
