Although her mother was an established performer, Tori Quinn did not begin life with her mindset on pursuing music. She is an emerging young talent who shares her story of present day challenges in African American culture through a well-shaped lens also known as her pen. Tori is heavily influenced by the seventies, dating her first musical memory to hearing Stevie Wonder on the radio. Her mother, a founding member of the group “Funkafied” (which later became known as “Midnight Starr”), travelled with Tori on tour throughout her career. While Tori is influenced by an array of women with powerful voices and even stronger messages, her own newly released album, “Lucky,” has received accolades for its unique genre-bending sound. She has had the opportunity to work with Raissa Simpson’s Push Dance Company on their Bitter Melon premiere, Bay Area Producers Conference, and many others.
