…One of the most underrated metal acts in Portugal, MY DECEPTION continues to work, independently, and against all things that tried to bring us down. Since the economical situation of the band (not able to invest properly or having to wait years to have the funds to record something), as the small band fame spread divided in two branches. The one where, non professional people say “Yeah! I´ve seen them live, they are deception alright!” (the only deception you find live in Portuguese small acts, are the sound “technicians” that can have the “skill” to make you sound worst then your rehearse sound), that Is with inferior material...And there is also other ridiculous reasons, such as the fact that we had too much ex members. It is not the fault of the band´s main impulse not to die, as some one decides to sit in the beach scratching his balls, instead of hard working in a garage/studio with 35 degree in summer or 10 degrees in winter , for “the dream”...It doesn’t have to stop just because you don’t believe it.
I am not here to wash dirty laundry, just the truth that is told in lots of different ways. Me, Pedro (aka Peter Davis), the creator of the project never thrown any one “off board”. I only didn’t wanted to stop. I have that right. I am constantly accused of this, even from other Portuguese bands (that should be united, but no. And there is room only for one...That doesn’t happen in Finland.)
MY DECEPTION gave its first footsteps in 2007, right at the beginning of the true age of Deception all through Europe. After Peter Davis (aka Winter) left its former band (FMC). With 4 songs composed, started searching for musicians interested in playing them...Europe (a bad idea from the start) was going bad, but in Portugal things are worst, for we have the most deceiving, backstabber, ignorant, thieves, lying, pigs, sacs of shit of politicians and deputies. Here nothing grows, only if you are born in a rich family that can pay for your first steps. Why do I even mention politics? I hate politics, as you also do, but, here, it influences music. For musicians have no right to have a steady job. Long hair guys are still, in 2012 (there should be flying cars about now!) seen as bad people, or people with no responsibility and drunk/drugged folks/bad influences and bad look...Sad isn’t it? Now imagine that with the fact that, if you are Portuguese, you don’t even have support in between jobs. You have to hide in your résumé that you can create music, and paint the silence, and organize live acts, and carry amps and stuff, or else you won’t be called to the common work (waiter, warehouse staff, store staff, office data entry staf, etc, all in the minimum wage). And then, at this age, you cannot even get that. So? What happens? You can buy strings. Cant buy that stack you need to play, and WHEN YOU DO? Its 23% of the money hard to get, given to the Government. For no reason. Its a general tax. A 400 euro stack? 90 euro go to a Government that helps music in NO WAY. It kills it.
With a lot of effort, with the previous line up (not complete, I had no backup lead or rhythm guitarist, he had left AGAIN), the 3 of MD finally got the cash to enter studio (at least I got the cash, other members already had it, they had steady jobs, I didn’t. Yeah, I know! Its hard to pay for something composed by another guy! But that is how bands work.). We finally recorded songs that we were playing over 2 years, but never had the chance to record. Former drummer programs the drums, former bass records bass at is own way, I record 2 guitarrs, keyboards and vocals...Done! But, no physical CDS were made...I could not do them, I was broke. With a lot of struggle and a big thanks to CD BABY guys, I managed to fight and put our EP for Online sale at CD BABY and iTunes (Ipod, Iphones, Ipad´s,etc). (google it!).
After a lot of gigs done, to spread the name, a few minor line up changes, till 2010, where the biggest line up change of all happened. The band decided to end. It is not “cheerfull” to see what is happening all over Portugal with live bands...People rather go to the movies and fill pockets of millionaires from Hollywood or Football. Or rathers spend 4 times more in a foreign band then just, hang out an afternoon or night in a venue, chilling or jumping around, having a few beers, just for the 5 euro door price. That, unfortunately also has a issue...It never gets to the bands. It gets lost within door securities, barmans and “sound techs” (that, once again, I can say that 90% of them make a horrible sound, but ALWAYS get paid first!). Its Portugal! (like “its Quagmire!)...
And thanks to Sales (aka Sean Rose) from Icon & The Blackroses, we managed to produce the EP at a “friend price”. That was a great help too.
Now, currently, after a lot of struggle, me unemployed for over 1 year, I sold all my gear to go to another country to gather some money and come back and lauch this thing, but could not do it. Going on door to door, a foreigner, in a distant land, asking for a job, even in UK´s mcdonnalds (that I hate) and got a middle finger, I came back, and started composing new stuff, and got the help of a lot of friends borrowing me material (Thanks! You know who you are), the guys were insisting all the time “Come on Pete!Lets rock!” and great heartwarming stuff like these, coming from the new line up :

Luis Correia in the guitar and always a good contagious mood, but not as contagious as Kristo´s, we have 2012 ahead, gigs popping like blood vessels, and 10 songs to play live and to record soon as we gather the funds, this will be the year...The relief after the storm. The full length album will be recorded and out in 2013. You can bet on it! 
Let us unite! Fighting fire with fire, end Deception with Deception..Cause I know what you feel. 
And finally, the Album "SINFUL TWILIGHT" will be out this year, before the Summer!
