Purveyors of Outernational Psychedelia, Broadway Sounds are a new breed of psych pop that push it and make it work.
Meeting at the intersection of afro rock, boogie funk, township jive, quiet storm, rapso, afro funk, kwela jazz, soca, rnb, folk and soul; Broadway Sounds maybe Australian, but their outlook on music is global.
They have played alongside local Oz acts such as NO ZU, Client Liaison, Kirkis, Nicholas Allbrook, Andras Fox, Silent Jay, Harvey Sutherland, GL, Sui Zhen, Ara Koufax and Dorsal Fins etc etc etc.
They have shared bills with local Oz DJ's such as Noise In my Head, Misty Nights, CC Disco!, Edd Fisher, Lewis Cancut, Misty Nights, Dusty Fingers, Chris Gill, Nite Fleit etc etc etc.
And they have supported international acts such as Hudson Mohawke, Carl Craig, Awesome Tapes From Africa, Todd Terje, Invisible Cities DJ's, Jamie XX, Psychemajik & Tako (RedLight Records Amsterdam) etc etc etc.
Broadway Sounds have featured heavily on 3RRR, 3PBS, FBi Radio, 4ZZZ, Triple J, Double J, RTR FM & Radio Adelaide.
Festivals played include Let Them Eat Cake, Paradise, St Kilda Festival, Vivid Festival (Sydney), At First Sight (Sydney), Melbourne Music Week, Beyond The Valley, Sugar Mountain (DJ set), New Year's EVIE, White Night Melbourne, Rainbow Serpent, Leaps & Bounds, Brunswick Music Festival + more.
