Scumpulse are a four piece punk infused Black Metal band from Edinburgh, Scotland. The band was formed at the end of 2013 / early 2014 after the death of the Scottish Blackened Crust band, Fifteen Dead. Ross began writing music and Matt the lyrics for what would become Scumpulse. The lineup was completed by Andrew and Magnus early ’14.
We released our debut EP 31/05/14 and have since played at the legendary Cramond Island of Punk DiY festival, completed a 10 date UK tour in November ’14 on our own, a 4 date mini-tour in January ’15 in support of Mörkhimmel from Prague and played at the North of the Wall festival ’15 in Glasgow. April ’15 will see us on another tour, our third in our first year of playing live, with another short 5 date UK tour in support of Sturmtiger from London. We have also promoted our own mini-festival, Vomfest, in Edinburgh, as well as hosting DiY house shows under the name of Black Cave to fantastic success.
Due to selling out of the first pressing of our debut EP we repressed it in January ’15 with a further 3 bonus cover tracks. As of March, writing is 90% complete for the debut album and following our April tour we will begin rehearsing the songs to record in May for a summer release and tour. We have also been asked to play Hordes of Belial festival this year and have been asked to join another excellent Scottish metal/punk band on a short tour with them in October.
