Although formed at the start of 2011, Romantic Industry took root in 2003 under the moniker Satanic Mechanisms. The brainchild of Mike Bunting, spawning several ultra-low budget albums: Satanic Mechanisms (2003), Evil Noise Vol.1(2004), and Cell (2006). Released under the now defunct label Ambient Black Records. It was between Evil Noise and Cell that Craig Werkheiser joined SM, bringing strange ideas to an already unusual project. After rare performances at underground venues and the release of Cell, the duo took a hiatus from music. Ambient Black Records dissolved, and Mike spent the next four years fine tuning his skill set (also suffering from panic attacks, and writers block). Between 2007-2010 several bands were formed, but never solidified. At the beginning of 2011, Mike began recording demos for a new project, it was at this time that Craig agreed to doing the vocals for this project. "Putrefakt", a mini concept album about dystopian society was recorded and released during the summer of 2011. Romantic Industry is on the rise.
