Born on October 26, 1979, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, a once proud shipping, manufacturing and automotive beacon of the Midwest, Jeff Scott Townsend’s humble beginnings in this Southeastern Wisconsin port-side town have laid the foundation for a life of music inspired by a juxtaposition of industry and nature, old and new - manufactured and organic. After beginning with sincere, skillfully engineered, melodies of authentic, American Roots music integrated with his first impetus: golden-era hip-hop, Jeff released Black Dog ep and then a full length album entitled All Night Forever.  However, after writing and producing a score to the dreamy and suspenseful independent thriller, Dove, he has since switched his focus to the modern classical genre where he has released an ep (She Was Beautiful) and most recently a 20 song full length album entitled “Notes From Underground.”
 
Jeff Scott Townsend was a featured artist in Electronic Music Monthly's Top 10 Reader Demos. He also wrote and performed the score for the independent documentary "El Corazon De Mi Padre."  For “All Night Forever” he released a single for the song Home which featured remixes by bears colts (of Frite Nite Digital) and Dylan Zocchi (of Sleep Comes Down). He has performed October Sun (from the Black Dog ep) on the Kenosha Live TV show, and also performed that song as well as “So Far Gone” (from All Night Forever) on 89.3 WRLR Radioactive. He also contributed a number of songs to the independent film Starts Friday’s soundtrack. Currently he is writing and producing the music for the score of the up-coming surreal drama, Ashley, which is due out in early 2012.
