The Los Angeles-based Fortress Social Club plays rock & roll music with an emphasis on the human element of recording. The band, which by namesake, claims permanent residence of the Fortress Recording Studios, is part of a tradition of rock & rollers gazing wistfully back toward days when live musicianship, full-band takes, and single-day album recording sessions were top of the pops. 

On the band’s 3 releases, (2 LPs and an EP in 2013) missed ques and imperfections not only make the songs, they make the songs glimmer and bleed with a disheveled bygone character that FSC originally banded together to unearth.

Originally conceived as a loose collective of musicians experimenting with the Fortress Recording Studio’s collection of vintage recording equipment, the current line-up has leaned from a 20+ piece to a 6 piece band.
