 Nicki graduated from the Leeds College of Music and quickly became a professional vocalist and voice teacher, working in the fields of pop, jazz and musical theatre. Her current academic credits include Senior Lecturer in vocal studies at Leeds College of Music, Principal voice coach at the Royal Northern College of Music Foundation degree and visiting lecturer at Chester and Manchester University.
 
Nicki is renowned for her vocal dexterity, flexibility and ability to emulate effortlessly any vocal style with ease. Her warm rich tone is smooth yet powerful and strong with a richness of dynamics and subtle phrasing that can only come from someone who feels the music as passionately as she does. Nicki was recently awarded the coveted title of ‘Jazz Yorkshire Vocalist of the Year’ for her outstanding contribution to singing, a truly worthy recognition of her talents. Her professional singing career takes her all over the country and the world with her own Jazz sextet, The Manhattan Sound Big Band, her function band, Divine and as guest artist with many other Jazz groups and as an accomplished piano vocalist performing on cruise ships throughout the summer.
 
Nicki writes original material in different styles including Gospel, Celtic folk, Jazz and music for commercial dance labels as well as being a session musician/singer, course leader, promoter and all round busy professional with performances at the O2 Leeds, Glastonbury, being signed to Jazz 33 records and headlining Jazz festivals all over the country.
