RETRO DELUXE, a hot new blues band from Bowie, Maryland, was born to rock the blues. They’re also a band to be reckoned with, and when you hear them, you’ll know why. Retro Deluxe is proud to present their debut CD of all-original songs aptly titled, “Baby It’s Hot!” It is now available!
Retro Deluxe is composed of five innovative and talented bluesmen; lead guitarist John McCloskey, bassist Preston Wood, veteran drummer Rob Smith, keyboardist Dave Gorozdos, and the bluesy, boozy, seductively soulful vocals of the group’s founder (and relative newcomer) Bobby Joe Owens.
Retro Deluxe is paving the road to success, and attracting an ever-growing blues-loving audience, with select shows in clubs and private events along the East Coast. Like most artists who must pay their dues through sheer hard work, they haven’t given up their day jobs – yet, but that’s sure to change, because these dedicated performers define the blues, and the blues defines Retro Deluxe.
Retro Deluxe has created a strong online presence through this Website and have also gained lots of airplay on popular (and free) music sites, including Jango.com, which introduces new, unsigned artists daily and asks listeners to “Make or Break” new songs by clicking “Thumbs Up,” “Thumbs Down,” or “Become a Fan” icons, and providing Website links for each group. Almost overnight, Retro Deluxe won over Jango members. They are now one of the hottest groups on this site, where their brand of blues has created a strong, dedicated worldwide fan base, with fans in over 50 countries. It is worth noting that Retro Deluxe fans have clicked the “Play This Song Often” icon for all of the group’s original songs––a rare achievement for new artists!
Retro Deluxe is taking the blues in new and exciting directions, and one can only imagine what they’ll create for future release. They are already working on their follow-up CD which is targeted for Mid-2010.
