She went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performing Arts at Colorado State University; there she studied the elements of Theater from writing to grampa-guitartechnical to directing, and culminated her studies abroad in London. Although influenced by several female vocalists from Celine Dion and Alicia Keys to Alanis Morissette and Beyonce, Leihoku draws her style from a variety of performers from such as James Morrison, Sia, Frank Ocean, Estelle, Bruno Mars and Jessie J.
