The sun cast two shadows on me.

first there was one and now there are three.

the moon lit the sky at night

while my heart was filled with pain fear and fright.

The separation of the shadows they are

pulling at my heart of sorrow.

the illusion of love that I once knew

cast shadows on my heart so very true.

Confusion it runs ever so deep

and I dream nightmares in my sleep

Separation of another kind so real

that I’m not sure how to handle or feel

The shadows cast over and over again

memories fade in and out from within

the sun is casting shadows on me

to set all of my mixed emotions free

Still the moon lit the sky at night

as my heart healed the pain fear and fright
